Documents
In the case of foreign nationals wishing to get married in the Czech Republic, they are required to submit the following documents:
• Proof
of eligibility of residency in the Czech Republic, issued by the Foreigner's
Police of the Czech Republic and not older than 7 working days.
• A foreigner must also identify her/himself by a valid travel document.
Other documents, issued by the state, of which the fianceé is a national must be submitted with an official translation into Czech by an accredited interpreter. These necessary documents must be submitted in good time to allow for processing known as superlegalization which completes the validation of all the necessary documents.
Payment
The sum of
600 CZK is paid in the case of a marriage contracted between:
• Foreigners with the status of permanent residency in the Czech Republic
• A Czech national and a foreigner with status of permanent residency
in the Czech Republic
The amount
of 2000 CZK is paid in the case of a marriage contracted between:
• Foreigners that do not have status of permanent residency in the Czech
Republic
All fees are to be paid cash or by the Czech postal order („Sloenka“) before the actual act.
Other Information
In the case
of either the fianceé or both memebers of the couple not speaking Czech,
the presence of an official interpreter is required.
Newlyweds are obliged to inform their national
embassy in the Czech Republic of the change in their marital status.
